Ped/Auto
According to the latest national statistics, pedestrian fatalities represent 18% of all vehicular fatalities. Over 7,000 pedestrians are killed in traffic crashes, while 68,000 pedestrians are injured nationwide. The investigation of pedestrian collisions presents special considerations, probably more so than vehicle vs. vehicle collisions. This course is designed to give students a thorough understanding of scene evidence assessment and documentation, as well as the application of specialized pedestrian equations.
This course features simulated impacts that allow the students to apply learned methodologies for calculating vehicle impact speeds.
Topics:
Medical and Vehicle Terminology
The Pedestrian, Driver and Environmental Relationship
The Crash Scene
Pedestrian Crash Analysis
Introduction to Formulas
Crash Tests and Exercises
