Kurt Twaddell provides forensic crash analysis and accident reconstruction services to insurance carriers and law firms throughout New York and Connecticut . With over 30 years of law enforcement experience, he has served with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office since 1994 and is assigned to the Detective Bureau as a Traffic Homicide and Criminal Investigator. He has led more than 800 major motor vehicle crash reconstructions and regularly provides expert testimony in criminal and civil courts.
Kurt Twaddell is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (#1310) and has completed over 3,000 hours of specialized training, earning certification as an Accident Reconstructionist through the University of North Florida’s Institute of Police Technology and Management. His specialties include vehicle forensics, crash data retrieval (EDR analysis), 3D laser scanning, drone mapping, forensic animation, motorcycle crash investigation, commercial vehicle reconstruction, occupant kinematics, and human factors analysis. Kurt Twaddell currently serves as President of the New York Statewide Traffic Accident Reconstruction Society (NYSTARS), reflecting his leadership and ongoing commitment to professional excellence in accident reconstruction.
