This 5-day block of training will explain, in detail, the techniques needed for reconstructing heavy vehicle collisions. Upon conclusion of the class, the student will be able understand the basics of a heavy trucks pneumatic braking system, introduced to extracted data from heavy vehicle event data recorders and telematics systems, evaluate a heavy vehicle's ability to stop, perform kinetic energy equivalent speed estimates, reconstruct a heavy vehicle's axle weight, calculate a heavy vehicles dynamic rollover threshold, and follow the proper procedures for forensic post-crash inspections. Completion of this class will better prepare the student to be successful in courtroom presentations. Eligible for ACTAR credits
