Course Description
This course will provide you with an understanding of the components of the Bosch© Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) Tool and the basic functions of the hardware and software. You will learn how to confidently collect and preserve data from various vehicle modules - including the airbag control module - from a variety of modern vehicles. We will begin by learning some basic terms and definitions and the differences between the crash data retrieval (CDR), airbag control module (ACM) and event data recorder (EDR). We will discuss how to determine whether a vehicle is supported with the Bosch© CDR tool. You will learn how to select the appropriate method to get the data, and then how to preserve and save the collected data for later analysis. We will present you with the proper techniques to use when collecting EDR data. You will learn how to troubleshoot data collection issues, how to prevent the corrupting or spoiling of data during extraction, and the legal issues you need to consider. In addition, we’ll teach you how to use the Bosch© CDR Tool Help File as a current and future resource.
